The Orthopaedics Department focuses on prevention, correction, diagnosis and treatment of the skeletal deformities of patients of all age groups for disorders of joints, bones, muscles, ligaments, tendon and nerves.
The Orthopedics department specializes in day to day trauma & all types of fractures – including spine, pelvis & difficult intra articular (joint fractures). We have the facility of c-arm / image intensifier that allows minimal invasive surgery (MIS) & keyhole surgery (for fractures of hip, thigh & leg).
The Orthopedics department also specializes in Arthroscopy facilities for sport injuries like anterior ligament reconstruction & meniscectomies are present. Complicated Joint replacements like total knee replacement & hip replacement are regularly carried out in steel cage operation theatre with laminar air flow.
Some of the procedures performed regularly by the Orthopedics teams are :
Spine problems like Pedicle screw fixation, decompression and fusion surgeries.
Pediatric Orthopedics - deformity correction like club foot, treatment of rickets and its consequent deformities (Rickets is a widespread problem these days).
Correction of deformity including joint replacement
Ilizarov Russian system of treating difficult fractures (like infected fractures, fractures with bone gap because of non-union)
Elderly patients with osteogenic fracture - like hip & spine
